What kind of beer will you be enjoying with Thanksgiving dinner?

Date November 21, 2007

As Kevin mentioned in the previous post, Thanksgiving is definitely a time to kick back with a good brew. For all of you beer lovers out there, comment on what you plan on pairing with your Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Last year I enjoyed a bottle of Oaked Arrogant Bastard by Stone Brewing. This year, I’d like to try and find some Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (I hear it’s been released and distributed over the last couple of weeks). Otherwise, I’ll be enjoying what’s left of the Double IPA brewed at River Raisin Brewing Company. mmm. Turkey and beer, what a good day it’s going to be!

I will be enjoying a bottle of Jolly Pumpkin’s Fuego Del Otono, Autumn Fire, with dinner. For dessert Founders Breakfast Stout. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I too will be partaking in the Jolly Pumpkin Fuego Del Otono and the one remaining Dogfish Pumpkin. For dessert I’m opening the New Glarus Belgian Red I picked up on my trip to Green Bay. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I will be enjoying a Christian Moerlein Christkindl, along with a few Leinenkugel Creamy Darks, and then whatever other good beer I left in my parents’ fridge that remains undrank. Then I will get up Friday morning and try to run it all off. Yaaaay holidays!

I will be having some witbier with my cranberries, literally. I copied the recipe for the Cranberry Wit Sauce from the BeerAdvocate web site. In fact, I better get out to the kitchen and make sure it doesn’t boil over. I’ll let you know how it comes out.

Just picked up a 4-pack of Sam Adams Imperial Pilsner and still have a few bottles of Arcadia Jawjacker and most of a growler of Rochester Mills Trippel left. I’m thinking the pilsner to start, the trippel during the meal, and the Jawjacker with dessert. Hmm, wonder if there’s room in there for a bottle of my own Webberville Wheat dunkelweizen…

I may have to crash a few people’s Thanksgiving. Especially where Scott and Matt are going to be.

I’m starting with a pale ale and then will end up with a Weinerspritzer Yellow.

Main course will probably be Victory HopDevil or homebrewed pale ale. I second the New Glarus fruit beer for dessert, but I’ll be having the Raspberry Tart instead. After dinner (if I have room) maybe Ommegang Three Philosophers.

I will be drinking at least one of the Batch 8000’s I bought yesterday, as well as a couple of homebrews. One is a clone of Affligem Noel, which I brewed a month ago and the other is a raspberry Oud Bruin brewed by a fellow club member who left it in my fridge after the last meeting (oops!).

    Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Small dinner group. The only other guest who drinks beer is not a hophead so we’ll be having a bottle or two of Bell’s Best Brown.

I’ve changed my plans. After a visit to Michigan Brewing last night, I picked up several Celis beers (sale on cases of Celis for $16). I’ll have dinner with a Grand Cru and finish with a Raspberry. mmm. In the mean time, I’m enjoying a High Seas IPA.
