What are you drinking for the Super Bowl?

I’m starting off with my Bells Two Hearted clone homebrew - turned out fantastic!! My buddy Aaron picked up some Stoudt DIPA and Flying Dog IPA - so, it’ll be a hoppy game for sure. :) Here’s a pic of my freshly poured IPA - using a Arbor Brewing Co. growler. I also made an awesome batch of bruschetta - here’s the recipe.

My favorite beer of the evening was Flying Dog’s IPA. We tried a Samuel Smith’s India Pale Ale, and the Stoudts DIPA and of course, my homebrew.. but, I think hands down the Flying Dog won. The bruschetta was a hit too!

Oaken Barrel’s Gnaw Bone Pale Ale was my Super Bowl celebratory beer!

My suspicion is the Hoser is a bitter Colts fan and would rather of seen Manning E Manning yesterday. Can’t spell Hoosier without Hoser.
I had to work during the Super Bowl but my drink of choice would have been a Bam Noire. I think it is because I drank all of mine on Friday and I am thirsty for one.

The beer did turn out fantastic! I shared the growler with a friend, and I’d say it came up in the #2 spot of all the beers we drank. If you ever want to have some fun, let family members who are used to michelobe light, try your IPA. I got the craziest looks from the sips they took - my sister was scrambling to find something else to drink to get the hop taste out of her mouth - I got a chuckle out of it.

The next beer I’m going to brew is a Two Hearted clone actually. I plan on actually culturing the yeast from some bottles since I hear that it’s a proprietary strain. It should be interesting! Glad to hear yours turned out well.

Hey,
Hope you enjoyed the Snake Dog IPA for superbowl! That is one of my favorites. I work for the Flying Dog Brewery and just wanted to thank you for including us in your festivities. Wanna sample some more of our brews? Let me know.
Cheers,
Stephanie

Wow, I love when breweries post on our blog!! Better believe I sent Stephanie an email reply. Not only will I try your brews, I’ll sacrifice myself for the sake of this blog, to let ya’ll fly me out to Denver for a night of sampling! And, off course, I’ll write a big ol’ post about it too! That might be going a bit far, but heck, it’s worth a try!
