Toasting Michigan Beer History?

Date April 6, 2008

In the next month I plan on posting about Michigan and the end of prohibition. One interesting fact is that Michigan ratified the 21st Amendment on April 10, 1933 but still remained a dry state for another month. That is until May 11, 1933 at 6pm when beer went on sale for the first time in about 15 years. 2008 marks the 75th anniversary of that event and I would like to celebrate this fact. What do you think of a state wide MI beer toast at 6pm on May 11th? I know it’s a ridiculously tall order for a small blog but if we make it a yearly event maybe it will eventually catch on. If you are at all interested in a toast, please pass it on to your favorite watering hole or fellow publican. Thank you.

I will be toasting with you! I’ll also post about it on my homebrew blog () when the date is closer. I’ll be hoisting a homebrew, in honor of our lawbreaking homebrewing and moonshinning forefathers. I dig your logo, but you forgot the UP. Very unfortunate…

I’m sure I can speak for all the trolls and apologize for that blunder.

Thank you for the support on the toast. I haven’t got a lot of feedback on it but I’m still going to push for it.
