Dark Lord Day at Three Floyds Brewing Co.

Ever spent two hours or more in line for a beer? Well, thats what I did during Dark Lord Day at Three Floyds Brewing in beautiful Munster, Indiana.
I was fortunate enough to hang out with a local couple Dan and Mary, who knew some people associated with the brewery (beer royalty). At 9:30, we were at the the end which soon grew to be the middle of the line. Some reports have attendance as high as 5000 people. We took turns saving our spot while we mingled with the dozen or so beer clubs, groups etc. scattered across the parking lot.
We were using our one growler of Dark Horse Trip Ale to trade for other beers such as Mad Anthonys 10th Anniversary Ale served out of an I Dream of Genie bottle and a nice blueberry mead from a club called the League of Strange Beer Drinkers (that’s me on the right).
Once inside the warehouse, a band was playing as you picked up your bomber of Dark Lord (limit 6 bottles). You could also sample 10oz guest beers from other breweries like Founders, Russian River, Firestone Walker, and Ommegang.
It was my first time at Three Floyds, and I must say their beer is a treat. With names like Robert the Bruce (a fine Scottish ale) and ham on rye (smoked rye), you can’t go wrong.
Looks like Dark Lord Day is turning out to be a tradition. And don’t forget…the early bird catches the beer.

Today is my anniversary. I worked the late shift so everyone was asleep when I got home. But I had to share what my gift is from the hubby. A Plebleus t-shirt! Tis totally cool. I know you guys are the only one’s who would get how cool that is. Sorry if I distracted your post with this.

Whoops, sorry Dave, must have been a typo somewhere. At least the beers were right.

Hey, I just saw there’s a guy named exaxtly like me in the US. And he’s a beer drinker too. Don’t mean to bother, but i didn’t expect to find anyone when googlin myself.
