I actually teach school in Detroit (live in A2), and it's mostly okay...if you stick to the downtown part. Warren is fine...lots of people on the roads though, and I think the drivers on 696 drive really, really fast. Otherwise, it's kind of a typical, working-class suburb. Now as for Flint...I've only been there once. That city has a terrible reputation for being violent...and I'm not sure about brewpubs. Anyone?
