September Beer Events 8th – 14th
September 8, 2008
September is a great month with its cooler temperatures, fall beer releases, football, and Oktoberfest. Here is a listing of events happening in Michigan this week. Click on the event title for more information.
Arbor Brewing Co. is the place to be this week with two events that are well worth attending.
ABC Brew Pub – Beer Tasting: Best of Michigan

One Thursday out of every month Arbor Brewing holds a beer tasting, this month’s tasting features the best of Michigan’s beer scene. Preordered tickets are $25 and with that you get a buffet and door prizes. Call 734-213-1393 for reservations because this one should sell out fast.
ABC Brew Pub – Oktoberfest Block Party
Sept. 12th & 13th, 2008 – 5:00 PM
Arbor blocks off the street off for their Oktoberfest Block Party. Music, dancing, brats and best of all…beer will be a part of the festivities. This is their 9th Oktoberfest and a good time is guaranteed for all.
Atwater Block Brewery Sponsoring the
1st Annual Cycles in the City- Downtown Detroit :September 13th
One of the most unfortunate stories in the news lately was the problem with the exploding Atwater Block Brewery bottle. Bottles do explode once in awhile but this one unfortunately hit someone. Obviously, Atwater didn’t maliciously go out to injury anyone and they could use the beer community’s support right now. If you are a cyclist and love beer, here is your chance to do so.
Traverse Epicurean Classic: September 11, 12, and 13
Here is an event from the MBG website. It celebrates artisan food, wine and beer. Rex Halfpenney and Ron Jeffries will be there along with a gourmet dinner featuring New Holland.
September 12 Schedule:
-Real Beer with Real Cheese – Rex Halfpenny
-Gourmet Beer Dinner – New Holland B.C.’s beers
September 13th Schedule
-Tasting Tour of Europe’s Most Historic Beers-Matt
Licklider
-Artisan Sour Style Ales – Ron Jeffries
-Beers for Cellaring – Rex Halfpenny

FYI, the Arbor Oktoberfest is Friday AND Saturday, same times, 5 to 11. If you stop by early Friday (before 8:30) I will be pouring beer (I was going to say on the street, but that sounds weird)

I corrected it. As you can see by the two types of font that the post is a cut and paste job. I am not sure how the 13th got cut off.
