Bell’s 5.2 Million Dollar Expansion

Date January 14, 2009

Below is a link to a Mlive story about Bell’s 5.2 million dollar expansion. This money is being spent right here in Michigan. The story is perfectly illustrates why you should support your local brewery.

Once again thanks Chris for emailing it to me.

And to think, back in the early 80’s college students sat next to a big tank and washed bottles by hand. He has come a long way. Shows what can happen when you produce a quality product!

yes, they sure have come a long way….. Perhaps they could dedicate part of the expansion to Rob Skalla since he was part of the family. and helped make Bell’s
what is today in a sense……

+1. Rob Skalla was a huge force in the beginnings of Bell’s beer. Why didn’t Mr. Bell recognize Rob when he passed away?

If either gumballhead or Steve G would want to do a post on him let me know. It would be great to hear your memories of him.

Wonder if they will need anyone with an IT background, recently received and MBA, and loves to brew/drink beer? =)

Rob Skalla was a wonderful person, a good friend, and a tremendous brewer. If Larry were to honor him for his contributions to Bell’s Brewery that would be an awesome (and well deserved) tribute.

+3 (times one million tears) for honoring Rob Skalla and all the heart and soul he put into his craftsmanship as a renaissance brewmeister.
