 NOTE – Bus tickets to the Winter Beer Fest are now on sale.  Tickets are $35 but if you purchase your ticket before Jan 31 you can get the early-bird rate of $30.  See below for details.

 Inauguration Parties at Arbor and Corner  Jan 20, 2009 07:00 – 11:00 PM
Whether you’re celebrating or sulking you’re invited to join us on inauguration night. We will have TV’s tuned to inauguration coverage and will be featuring Happy Hour specials for all registered attendees from 7pm-11pm in our Game Room or Lounge. sign up for ABC event  or sign up for Corner event  For those able to come by during the day, we will also show the noon inauguration at Arbor Brewing Company only (Corner doesn’t open until 4pm).  Pre-registration appreciated but not required.

Corner Brewery – Ypsilanti Heritage Foundation – BEER GEEK NIGHT!  Jan 21, 2009 07:30 PM
The “History of Ypsilanti Beer” 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. in the Lounge. Mike O’Brien will talk about the history of beer – with information about the production in Ypsilanti. Earnest Griffin will have his collection of vintage Ypsilanti beer bottles on display. YHF will have photos – including one of an early malt factory that was just up the street from Corner Brewery. This program is one of a series of programs offered by the Ypsilanti Heritage Foundation – whose mission is to increase public understanding and appreciation of Ypsilanti’s great wealth of historic architecture.

Corner Brewery – Planned Parenthood Fundraiser – Jan 23, 2009 08:00 PM
Join us for the 3rd annual fundraiser for Planned Parenthood. Jan. 23rd from 8-12 at the Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. The popular bands Third Coast Kings and Hullabaloo will be playing. $10 suggested donation to the Lounge.

ABC Brew Pub – Worst Ride of the Year Ends at Arbor! – Jan 25, 2009 03:00 PM
Worst Day of the Year Ride by Wheels in Motion! This free event has become one of the most anticipated cycling events of the year for Ann Arbor cyclists. Sure it will be cold, and it might be wet, but there is no better excuse to get everyone on their bikes in January than to spend time with good friends and enjoy good food & drink. Contests, giveaways and more! Fundraiser in the Lounge! A very gifted musician from SE Michigan, Jo Serrapere, has the opportunity of a lifetime! Jo’s new project Stella. will be recording with Larry Eagle of the Bruce Springsteen2006 Seeger Sessions cd and tour. Help us send Lil’ Jo to the Big Apple!! Suggested donation is $10  Songwriters, Jill Jack, Emily Rose and Jeni Lee Richey of Bone Orchard Revival, and Jen Sygit will also be on the roster at the benefit along with Jo and the Willie Dunns. Corner Brewery – Beer Tasting Class – Jan 31, 2009 2:00 – 5:00 PM
Tap Into Your Taste buds. Join brewery owner Rene Greff for a fun and fast-paced introduction to craft beer and beer tasting. This 3 hour class will cover the brewing process and the flavor impacts of ingredients in beer. We’ll taste classic beer styles and identify major flavor components while learning basic evaluation technique and vocabulary. This course is being offered through the Washtenaw Community College Lifelong Learning program. We’ll be drinking beer so you gotta be 21. Advance registration required.

Corner Brewery- Introduction to Homebrewing Class – Jan 31, 2009 2:00 PM
Want to learn how to make your own beer at home? Join owner and head brewer Matt Greff for a hands-on class in which you’ll learn the basics needed to brew your own malt extract beer at home. We’ll be drinking while we brew so you gotta be 21. Class participants will also get to enjoy free samples of the finished beer at a rat pad release party on Feb 25. This course is being offered through the Washtenaw Community College Lifelong Learning Program. Advance registration required.

ABC Brew Pub – Beer Lovers Valentine’s Series  Feb 12 – 14 2009 7:00 PM
Feb 12-14 we will celebrate true love with the Beer Lover’s Series at ABC! To celebrate, we’re brewing up 3 small batch specialty beers (brewers choice!) to be tapped each night at 7pm and served until they run out (Thursday’s offering will also be available at the Big Ale tasting).

ABC Brew Pub – Beer Tasting: Big Ales – Feb 12, 2009 7:00 PM
The perfect tasting to shake off the winter chill! For this special tasting, we’ll pull together 25 to 30 of our favorite high-octane brews sure to warm your heart and lift your spirits. We’ll start with old ales and barleywines and round out the list with a smattering of Double IPAs, scotch ales, and a handful of Belgian styles. Tastings run 7-9 PM. NOTE: Tickets to this special tasting are $35 in advance and $40 if purchased on tasting day. Advance tickets recommended as tastings often sell out in advance. Offsite Event – Bus to Winter Beer Festival – Feb 28, 2009 8:00 AM
Once again, Arbor Brewing Company will be providing bus service to and from the Brewers Guild Winter Beer Festival in Grand Rapids. The festival is Saturday, February 28 from noon to 5 pm. Enthusiast hour will be from 11-12. The bus will depart Corner Brewery at 8:00 and will depart Arbor Brewing Company at 8:30. Doors to the pubs will open 30 minutes prior to departure time. Departure times are firm so come early! We will provide complimentary carry-out coffee and bagels at Arbor Brewing Company for all passengers as well as refreshments on the bus. The bus will depart for the return trip at 5:30. Bus Tickets are $35 (early bird tickets $30 through Jan 31.
