Inauguration Parties at Arbor and Corner Jan 20, 2009 07:00 – 11:00 PM
Whether you’re celebrating or sulking you’re invited to join us on inauguration night. We will have TV’s tuned to inauguration coverage and will be featuring Happy Hour specials for all registered attendees from 7pm-11pm in our Game Room or Lounge. sign up for ABC event or sign up for Corner event For those able to come by during the day, we will also show the noon inauguration at Arbor Brewing Company only (Corner doesn’t open until 4pm). The “History of Ypsilanti Beer” 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. in the Lounge. Mike O’Brien will talk about the history of beer – with information about the production in Ypsilanti. Earnest Griffin will have his collection of vintage Ypsilanti beer bottles on display. YHF will have photos – including one of an early malt factory that was just up the street from Corner Brewery. Jo’s new project Stella. will be recording with Larry Eagle of the Bruce Springsteen2006 Seeger Sessions cd and tour. Help us send Lil’ Jo to the Big Apple!! Tap Into Your Taste buds. Join brewery owner Rene Greff for a fun and fast-paced introduction to craft beer and beer tasting. This 3 hour class will cover the brewing process and the flavor impacts of ingredients in beer. We’ll taste classic beer styles and identify major flavor components while learning basic evaluation technique and vocabulary. This course is being offered through the Washtenaw Community College Lifelong Learning program. We’ll be drinking beer so you gotta be 21. Once again, Arbor Brewing Company will be providing bus service to and from the Brewers Guild Winter Beer Festival in Grand Rapids. The festival is Saturday, February 28 from noon to 5 pm. Enthusiast hour will be from 11-12. The bus will depart Corner Brewery at 8:00 and will depart Arbor Brewing Company at 8:30. Doors to the pubs will open 30 minutes prior to departure time. Departure times are firm so come early! We will provide complimentary carry-out coffee and bagels at Arbor Brewing Company for all passengers as well as refreshments on the bus. The bus will depart for the return trip at 5:30. Bus Tickets are $35 (early bird tickets $30 through Jan 31. Festival tickets sold separately and are available at Corner or ABC or through the MI Brewers Guild website. Tickets available from Arbor 734-213-1393 or Corner 734-480-2739.

No St Pats news yet! I hope they do the bus again, that was a blast last year.

Team Tree Farm will be riding at the Worst Day of the Year Ride this Sunday. I’ll be at the bar instead as I had a bike crash at Ray’s Indoor Bike Park in Cleveland this week and can’t ride yet. So, hurry up and ride and join me for a beer before I drink it all!
