I Had a Funtime Drinking Sunshine in a Glass

I want to sincerely thank everyone that came out to our Oberon Release Party on Thursday. I got to meet some really nice beer geeks and I enjoyed a lot of Oberons. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.

I get a little worked up before any event we try to put on. I know I have stated it before but I want help create a great beer scene right here in Monroe. Currently, we do not have a lot of bar owners that get the whole craft beer movement but we have a lot of craft beer fans that do. We just need to find a way to network.

I am often asked, “Can the city of Monroe support a brewpub?” Monroe  has two things going for it. It is a community with a great deal of civic pride and frustrated beer geeks like me. When it happens I hope the owner will be someone who loves beer.

I would also like to thank Chris and Jim Bica for letting us take over 129 Lounge again. I hope to see everyone at our 3rd annual Michigan Beer Tasting. We have a few other things we want to do such as something with Harbor Inn & Ale and a Monroe homebrew club. You can email Rob or I for details on the homebrew club.
