American Craft Beer Week

Date May 11, 2009

If you think this is just another week that you need to get through so you can enjoy the weekend you are wrong. It is American Craft Beer Week (May 11-17) which means there are more than enough beer events in your area to get it through the next 5 days and into the weekend. Here are 5 ways you can make your week more enjoyable through beer.

May 11, Michigan Beer Toast:  Michigan ratified the 21st Amendment on April 10, 1933 but still remained a dry state for another month. That is until May 11, 1933 at 6pm when beer went on sale for the first time in about 15 years. 2009 marks the 76th anniversary of that event. A toast will be held at Corner Brewery, Arbor Brewpub, Harbor Inn & Ale. I also heard that there will be a toastat Arcadia, Redwood lodge and with the Beer Barons at Uptown Grille in Commerce.
