Mead Day – Saturday, August 1st

Date July 29, 2009

Mead Day, organized by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA), is a national event to help increase camaraderie among homebrewers and meadmakers to introduce or reintroduce the meadmaking hobby.
Each year on the first Saturday in August, homebrewers around the nation are encouraged to invite non-brewing and brewing friends and family to celebrate by making mead.

One local event can be found at B. Nektar Meadery in Ferndale, MI. Here’s the days events:

While we were in Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, we did pick up a bottle of their Tupelo Mead. Guess we’ll drink it Saturday in honor of the day.

For those shooting to Chicago, be sure to check out this guy’s mead
