Beer List Announced for MBG UP Oktoberfest
September 3, 2009
Here are all the details including beer list from http://www.michiganbrewersguild.org/ on the upcoming Oktoberfest in Marquette, MI. This is the first year for this event and I hope the UP is ready to party because I am. I should put a disclaimer on that last sentence. I am ready to party a safe amount for someone my age which is nowhere near the level of someone in their 20s. It’s all relative.
There will also be a party on Saturday September 5th at 6pm at Michigan Brewing to help bag tokens for this event.

The first-ever Michigan Brewers Guild U.P. Oktoberfest is coming September 12 . . . and it’s crossing the Big Mac bridge to do so! The excitement is taking over the heart of the Upper Peninsula and spreading!
Though Michigan craft beers have long been established in the Upper Peninsula, September 12 in Marquette unveils the first U.P. craft beer tasting event sponsored by the Michigan Brewers Guild. Set in the historic beauty of Marquette’s lower harbor at Elwood Mattson Park, this singular beer event summons the great tastes of Michigan craft brews to the heart of the U.P. Just in time for Michigan’s craft brewers to unveil their fall-winter offerings, the U.P. Oktoberfest is sure to be the number one beer-lovers regional event this fall.
Tickets will be $30 in advance, $35 at the door (if available) and will be limited to the first 1500 purchasers. Designated Drivers are encouraged and will be allowed entry for a $5 ticket. Everyone must be at least 21 years of age to attend. Tickets are available on line and at select member breweries and retail outlets. For an updated list of ticket outlets please visit our blog, the MASH, at www.mbgmash.org. Entry fee includes admission and 12 tokens which are redeemable for 3oz samples of beer. Additional tokens will be available for purchase inside the event. There will also be live music and local food vendors will be selling a variety of tasty items. The Festival will take place rain or shine.
Plan on meeting your friends September 12th at Elwood Mattson Park. The gates open at 1:00pm and beer service stops at 6:00pm. Brewers Guild Enthusiast Members will be allowed entry one hour early at Noon. For membership information visit our beer gear web strore.
