Arcadia brought home a gold this year for their Barleywine in the second most contested category (Wood and Barrel-Aged Strong Beer) by beating out 109 other entries.

Here is a list of the Michigan winners.

I tasted a lot of great beer from our state that didn’t take a medal. I am confident that some of the 49 thousand in attendence got to taste those same beers and loved them. Let’s hope that means more business for Michigan breweries.

My plan tonight to toast the winners with some Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere.

Nice post! You gotta be proud of the Michigan brewers. Entering 4% of the beers and winning 4% of the medals . . . batting 1.000!!! Nice point about some of the beers that didn’t even win. It was somewhat shocking that more medals weren’t taken. It’s difficult not being a “homie” here. Awesome stuff!!!
