When it comes to the budget, lawmakers are looking at every option they have to generate more revenue for the state. Local breweries are speaking out today saying they can’t foot the bill.
With just nine days left to come to a budget agreement, Michigan breweries are speaking out.
Brett Vanderkamp, the chief imagination officer for the New Holland Brewing Company says that cost would ultimately be passed on to consumers.
“What were trying to look out for is come the 11th hour and the 59th minute we just wanna gently remind then that Michigan brewers are providing jobs,” says Vanderkamp. “What ends up happening is we have to build that cost back into our cost of sales and so it goes through the supply chain and gets marked up exponentially through the supply chain.” …..click here for rest of the article
