I do want to add one thing about
the Oatmeal Stout pumpernickel beer bread from Erie Bread Company. It will have cheddar cheese and onion baked in. Their bread has become as much of a part of our St. Patrick’s Day as stouts. It will be available at Erie Bread on Saturday.
Looking forward to a great time this St. Patricks Day @ Original Gravity Brewing Company on Sunday March 17th! We will have extended hours this year since it is Sunday. We will be open from Noon until 11pm. Lumpy (Oatmeal Stout) will be on tap later this week to also enjoy on Sunday. We will also have (6) additional small batch stouts on tap for Sunday.

We will be serving huge corned beef sandwiches made with house cooked Grobbels corned beef on Oatmeal Stout pumpernickel beer bread from Erie Bread company. Served with a side of homemade baked potato salad from Erie Bread Company.
Some people think of Friday the 13th with a sense of doom fearing that something bad is lirking right around the corner. I on the other hand am looking forward to Hopslam arriving in Monroe today knowing that four of my five senses will be very happy tonight.
I found out that kegs are arriving today at McGeady’s and Harbor Inn & Ale. I talked to the owner of HIA and he said that it will be on tap today.
Bottles will be showing up in stores so look for them at Jake’s and Foodtown.
If you haven’t heard already, Milan is getting it’s own brewery. Ypsilanti home brewer, Brad Sancho will soon be living the dream all home brewers hope to eventually graduate to. Brad has been home brewing for around 6 years using a 10 gallon all-grain system he built in his garage. He’s making the career transition from mechanical engineering to brewer/business owner.
The brewery is located right off of US-23 and just east of downtown Milan at 440 County Street. When asked why he chose Milan, Brad responded ” I wanted the intimacy of a small town brewery, but also the potential for growth.” “I wanted to start my businees in a town did not yet have a local brewery.” “The folks in Milan have been very supportive.” “I currently live in Ypsilanti, and have lived in the area my whole life.”
As far as styles that will be on tap at OGBC, it sounds like hop heads will be in heaven. “I am a definite hop head, thus IPA is tops on the list for me.” Brad said. “Unfortunately the current hop “crisis” is going to put a severe damper on a plan for an IPA at the pub. ” “My exact line is not finalized and will be dictated by what hops I can obtain.” “I have secured some Hallertau hops, so an Altbier is going to be on the line-up. I plan to have 4-5 regular beers plus a specialy tap.”
The real question is; when will it open? “My fingers are crossed for an opening in March as early as possible.” Brad said. “Wish me luck.”
