I Can’t Believe I Made My Kids Eat That: IHOP Edition

Filed under: I can't believe I made my kids eat that — Robin Dec @ 1:27 pm

We had “lunch” at IHOP today with my folks. Here’s what they are serving up for the kiddos in honor of the movie “Horton Hears a Who.”

I think they’re going to have to change the title of the movie to “Horton is a Type-II Diabetic.” Holy Crikey! I’ll take my Healthy Parent of the Year Award anytime now :)

  1. That is disgusting!!! Ugh — what kid would even want to eat that messy goop?

  2. Robin, next time you want to order them something like this, just pour a 5 lb bag of processed sugar down their throats. It’s cheaper!

  3. LPC, I was thinkin’ the same thing.

Shawna…apparently all the kids want to eat that messy goop :) It was horrible. I blame Noggin. One or the other of them saw a commercial and it was downhill from there.

  4. Ooooooh, also…I’m happy to report they both ate a well-balanced dinner that included meat and veggies! Yay!

  5. I admit: I’ve put chocolate chips in my pancake batter on occasion.
But topping the pile of pancakes with a sucker???? Never would have crossed my mind.

  6. This portion is too big even for me! The syrup(?) reminds me of the purple and/or green ketchup that Heinz put out a few years ago–tested among children who thought it would be cool, but then when it got to market, the moms were freaked out and the kids ended up thinking it was gross as well. Of course, I think my youngest had popcorn and jujubees for dinner tonight..

  7. There’s your fruit and your fiber right there! What’s the problem?

  8. I’ll make chocolate chip pancakes for my boys, but that just IHOP special does not look tasty. In fact, my teeth started to ache the moment I saw it.

So did your kids enjoy it? What kind of sugar crash followed?

  9. YIKES I can’t believe that’s a menu item!

So…..did they eat it? Did they get a sore belly? IHOP should be ashamed. What happened to givin the kiddies a freakin toy for these movies?

  10. Ok, I am a little late on this one, BUT…did they also get the Horton drink?? The Sprite with pieces of jello in it that actually come up the straw. My kids had it, and I think it freaked them out. I tried it, and the fact that lumpy things were coming out of my drink freaked ME out!! Way to go IHOP :)
