About Ten Pin Talk
Welcome fellow bowlers and fans of bowling!
My name is Rebecca Keegan, and some of you know me best by Rebecca Sharp, my maiden name and identity for most of my bowling career. I currently hold a 210 league average, and I’ve been bowling since I was nine years old, which was back before we had this great thing called the Internet. Then, bowlers had to scrounge for information about bowling, and we used urethane bowling balls, and bowled on wood lanes because synthetics were rare. I’m sure some of you reading this remember those days. The balls didn’t hook much on their own like today’s equipment. You had to give the ball a “hand” so-to-speak to make the pins explode the way they do today with resin balls and other technology. A lot has changed over the past 25 years of my bowling career. There’s simply so much to talk about and debate that when the Monroe Evening News asked if I’d help start a bowling blog I couldn’t resist!
I’ve surfed all over the web and have had a difficult time finding interesting blogs where bowlers and fans alike share fun stories, successes, tips and advice, and frustrations about this sport. So, I invite everyone whether you’ve bowled in a league, tournaments, rock n’ bowl, cosmic bowling or have just rolled your first strike over the weekend during an outing with friends to share your thoughts on this favorite Michigan past time. This blog will only be as fun, interesting, and helpful as you and I make it. I look forward to posting throughout each week and receiving reponses to those posts.
So, I hope you enjoy this blog and share your opinions and experiences with us. Blog on, and let’s strike up friendships in our spare time online this season!
Roll on,
Rebecca Sharp-Keegan
