Sunday’s college financial aid workshop follow-up
Monroe County Community College hosted a college financial aid workshop Sunday afternoon as part of the national College Goal Sunday campaign. There were 61 participating students this year for an estimated total 100 in attendance.
The story I wrote for The Monroe Evening News about the workshop can be found on page 1A of today’s print and e-editions and on line at:
A financial boost / Parents, students get help filling out forms to pay for college.
A snippet:
“The goal of College Goal Sunday is to reach first-time students, and it’s been quite successful,” said Tracy Vogt, director of financial aid at MCCC. “Once you do it once, people are pretty comfortable on their own next time.”
College expenses and financial aid for Monroe County students has been a recurring topic on Monroe on a Budget. If you’re interested in this topic, start with my “College planning and financing” sidebar.
