Extreme grocery shopping bloggers

Have you see what some coupon masters can do at the grocery stores? Sometimes I feel like I am merely an apprentice when I read some of these frugal shopping blogs. If you think I did well with my shopping trip with a 10 for $10 sale on Sunday, there are other shoppers who are light years ahead of me.

Earlier today, Shawna at Monroe Parenting sent me links to these two blogs where you can see a very impressive stash of deeply discounted grocery and drugstore “finds.”

And I already knew about this blogger:

Now remember, frugal shopping is a skill. It takes time and practice to work up from apprentice to master.

You also have to work within the stores and promotions that are available in your community. Specifically, consumers in the Monroe area do not have access to triple coupon specials that some bloggers use in other areas, although some of our stores do double coupon.

You can still get some VERY AMAZING GROCERY DEALS in Monroe. I’ve blogged about some of my frugal finds.

All you need to start with is the following:

  • Shopper cards at the stores that require one for the best deals (Such as Kroger and CVS).
  • A Sunday newspaper (This needs to be a weekly purchase or, better yet, a subscription. You need to build up up an inventory of coupons for a variety of products, and you need to see the weekly grocery prices at all the stores in your community.)
  • A box or packet to carry your coupons to the store (Never walk into a grocery or drugstore without your entire coupon box. Not every sale is advertised.)
  • A binder or drawer at home to store your rebate catalogs, rebate forms and receipts.

With about an hour or two of planning and preparation each week, you can do as good as I do.

And I still have plenty to learn!
