Kroger mega sale picks – including an oops!
I told you about that Kroger 10 Mega Sale already. Well, I went to Kroger on S. Monroe St. in Monroe at lunch to see what damage (*cough!* savings!) I could do with a stack of grocery coupons and a sales flier.
I bought 20 items, shown here, for $25.06. That’s not bad at all, when you consider the before-sale / coupons retail price was $67.97. But I made a mistake.

So where’s my mistake?
I think that 1 pound of Mexican cheese you see on the right, peeking out from the blueberry muffin mix, was my mistake.
I had 20 items, and all of them were on sale, and many of them were on coupons. But only 19 items at checkout qualified for the Mega sale instant discount.
That means I missed out on a $5 instant discount at the checkout by selecting one wrong product!
Silly me. But it was still a decent shopping trip.
Any Monroe County shopper with a coupon box can do as good as I did on this promotion. All of the coupons I turned in today were from grocery coupon fliers distributed in recent editions of the Monroe, Toledo and Detroit Sunday newspapers; along with at least one other coupon I found in a women’s magazine. And, as you can see, I mixed up my selections. I didn’t buy, for example, 10 boxes of cake mix.
And I’m sure some of you could do better than I did if you pay attention to the shelf tags like I should have.
