Festival of Frugality April 8

A Penny Saved is hosting the April 8 Festival of Frugality. Here are some of the frugal bloggers you’ll find on the showcase this week:

  • Debt Free presents Tips on Saving Money: “Tips on saving money are like dollars themselves, you can’t have enough of them. Now you have some more to sustain you on your journey toward being Debt Free.” This post goes a bit more into details than the stereotypical frugal lifestyle “thou shalt not” list.
  • Money Changes Things presents The $300 Prom Challenge: “Our daughter attended a private, affluent suburban high school (which I generally loved), so I braced myself. While her friends were generally more distinguished for their idealism than their materialism, when the occasions arose, the money was there.” Here is a Monroe High School class of 2007 prom story from the Monroe on a Budget archives: Prom on a budget.
  • No Debt Plan presents My Toothpaste Paid Me 17 Cents: “We’re not going to retire off of free toothpaste. But a consistent mentality that helps you find deals like this? That will take you somewhere.” Yes, there’s a learning curve to the drugstore rebates. But if you have a fully stocked coupon box, pay attention to the sales fliers and are willing to do the rebate paperwork, you too can do tricks like this.

Thanks for the link love! I just realized there is a CVS within range of my work, so I may start going through that process.
