Monroe’s community garden plots
The City of Monroe Recreation Department hosts Community Garden Plots at Munson Park, behind the ball diamonds.
The plots can be rented at $15 or $27 each, and senior citizens get a discount.
Water is available at the site. Gardeners will supply their own hoses, tools, plants, soil amendments and fertilizers. Weeding and upkeep of the plots are up to each member.
Considering the price of groceries, this is a great option for those of you who know how to garden but don’t have a place for it.
Details also are in the City of Monroe Recreation flier, which was delivered in the city district with today’s print editions of The Monroe Evening News.
