MI Bridge card accepted at Eastern Market
The Michigan EBT / Bridge Card (aka food stamp card) is accepted at Detroit’s Eastern Market. Details are explained here.
This market promotes itself as the largest historic public market district in the U.S.
Eastern Market’s Bridge Card program actually started last summer – but now that farm market season is beginning and more Michigan families are on food stamps, it’s a good time be aware of this program. After all, a lot of Monroe County residents have reason to go to Detroit from time to time, and you might have friends or relatives in metro Detroit who will want to know about the service.
On a similar program involving farmer’s markets, Michigan families who are clients of the Women Infants Children (WIC) program and senior citizens who meet certain qualifications can participate in Project FRESH.
