Carnival of Personal Finance 6/16
The Carnival of Personal Finance is celebrating its third anniversary this week. Consumerism Commentary is hosting the June 16 edition, and here are some of the money-related posts you’ll find from across the Internet:
- Moolanomy presents Financial IQ Test: “Are you financially savvy?” If you want to know what topics have been getting the buzz among financial bloggers lately, this quiz seems to have hit them all!
- Save and Conquer presents The Vanishing School Bus: “We drive our son to school. It’s too far for him to walk or ride to. We also drive him and other kids on field trips.” The blogger is writing from California, but some of you who live in southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio have not had school buses for older students in recent years. Further complicating matters – there are driving restrictions in Ohio that limit how many unrelated passengers a teen-age driver can have in the vehicle. I’m glad Michigan did not have a similar law in effect when my daughter was a high schooler. Even though she rode school bus or city bus as needed, carpools were often her best option because of schedule issues.
- Penny Jobs presents How to find something to cut back on: “Circle those items that you think your family could live without. Ok, now your family members may not agree with everything that you circled, so get them all together to discuss what items they agree to cut out.” Everybody’s got an opinion on frugal living, but your immediate family members are the ones who have to live with the decisions and make it work.
