Frugal Village: Cutting haircut costs

Sara Noel’s Frugal Village column for today focuses on how to cut haircut costs. Her favorite idea as submitted by her readers is going to a barber instead of a hairstylist for a haircut. You’ll find the column on page 3E of today’s print and e-editions of The Monroe Evening News.

You’ll also find Sara’s column for today posted at her web site where one of the tips that we didn’t have room for in today’s MEN was a “cereal potluck”:

My kids like to have a “cereal potluck.” When there isn’t enough cereal in the box for a whole bowl, we have a container into which it gets dumped. On Sundays, each kid eats the mixed cereal from the container. — April P., Texas

Perhaps my kids don’t have the most fashionable haircuts, but I cut their hair. Its not that complicated, especially the little boys who have clipper cuts and the girls who just need to sit still so I can make it even.

I actually just finished the boys haircuts a couple minutes ago. :)
