MEN: Racing speeds and gas prices
As part of a series on how gas prices are affecting southeast Michigan residents, The Monroe Evening News has this article today: Speed – at a price.
A snippet:
Barry Ryan’s dragster can tear down the track at speeds of 160 mph, which means it really sucks down the high-octane racing fuel that tops off at around $6 a gallon.
But the expensive part for Mr. Ryan is not the actual racing; it’s getting to Milan Dragway. Mr. Ryan lives in Farmington Hills and it costs him more to haul his dragster to Milan than to race it.
You’ll also find it on page 1A of today’s print and e-editions.
