Festival of Frugality 8/12
The Aug. 12 edition of the Festival of Frugality was hosted by MoneyNing. Here are some of the posts you’ll find about frugal living concepts:
- My Dollar Plan presents 15 tips for saving money while you still have a job: “Explore discounts for cars, restaurants, dry cleaning, travel, or any other affiliations your company has.” The post was written by someone who made a planned exit, but the tips are just as good for those of you in Michigan whose jobs are iffy and may be escorted out the door soon as part of a layoff plan.
- Fiscal Liberty presents How Discount Shopping trumps the mall for back-to-school bargains: “If you can, buy a little more than what you need because that same pack of pencils that costs $.50 today will be $2.00 in two months time.” And what office supplies do you need to run your household during the next few months? The glue sticks I bought on sale didn’t go in the college kid pile – they went into MY office drawer!
- Bargain Briana presents Coupons, coupons, come out, come out whereever you are: “Besides insert coupons, sometimes you can score coupons in Parade Magazine, or in the actual print pages of the newspaper.” Yes, and yes. I have blogged on occasion about those coupon finds in Parade magazine and the print pages of The Monroe Evening News. By the way, here’s another tip: There are coupons inside some of those lunch boxes that are on sale this week at Meijer in Frenchtown Township.
