Freep: Many owners take houses off market
Detroit Free Press has this report on page 1H of today’s print edition and at Freep.com: Homes come off market as average price in Michigan plummets.
A snippet:
Metro Detroit still has a glut of homes on the market — a frustrating situation for sellers who have to compete with so many others to unload their homes. And the high number of foreclosed properties adds to the downward spiral of home prices.
There was a new family moving into a home on my block this weekend. The home had been on the market for a long time – even though the previous owners did a very good job keeping the property maintained after they moved out.
I really don’t want to know what that home sold for.
