Last week we took the time to sort through all our pantry & freezer items. I buy extra flour when I get a deal & also store it in the freezer. I have 3 bags. So I can scratch that off my list. I also got out some old recipes from my grandmother & found some really cheap but tasty things to make. I also have been searching for sometime for a homemade laundry soap recipe. I tried the powder type but found I had to use 3 tablespoons & take the time to disolve it in warm water first. Finally after talking to a few other people online I tried the recipe at the Duggar family web site. It is great! I made 10gal. for a little less than $2.00. I did spend $5.00 for a nice 5gal. bucket with a tight fitting lid. But I can see the savings in a month. Now if I could just find a way to save on our second biggest expense, toilet paper.
