Monroe dealership launches “keep America working” campaign
The Monroe Evening News reports today that the Monroe-Dodge-Chrysler Superstore has begun a “Keep America working” effort with campaign banners and steep discounts on vehicles created by local auto plants.
A snippet:
While Congress debates an auto industry bailout, a Monroe car dealership is taking a bootstraps approach in hopes of jump-starting business and putting laid-off autoworkers back on the job.
After watching sales slow significantly, owners at the Monroe Dodge-Jeep-Chrysler Superstore have strung up “keep America working” banners and are taking a loss on the sale of certain models that are made or supplied by local auto plants. …
The Mahalaks also have purchased about 50 big banners saying “Millions of Americans are counting on us to keep America working.” They’re offering to sell them to other businesses who want to put them up to inspire others.
Yes, the dealership is the business to sell cars. But I give the staff and employees credit for looking within their talent pool for ideas.
What can you do in your line of work, profession or volunteer service that can help southeast Michigan get out of its economic funk?
A lot of little efforts from a lot of Michigan people may have a bigger impact than whatever assistance we may get from other sources.
