Steve and Barry’s to close its Frenchtown Square store
The Monroe Evening News reports today that Steve and Barry’s plans closing its store at Frenchtown Square mall in Monroe.

The company had planned to keep the Monroe location – an anchor store at the mall – open and as well as many others while it reorganized under bankruptcy laws. But court documents filed this week show that the company has hired Great American Group LLC to liquidate all inventory in remaining stores by the end of the year or early next year. …
“Regrettably, the new management of Steve & Barry’s has decided they can’t make a go of it in the current economic climate,” said Joe Bell, a spokesman for Frenchtown Square mall.
Therefore: if you are planning to get someone a college or pro sports or just plain silly T-shirt from Steve and Barry’s for Christmas, double-check that size and style before you make your selection.
