Where are the cheapest Christmas cards in Monroe?

Where are the cheapest Christmas cards in Monroe?

If you just want a “card assortment,” I found lots of options.

But I was in search of 80 Christmas cards that looked alike. It has been our custom to send out the same card to everyone, and well, I can be fussy about that if I want to be. Furthermore, I had to buy the cards this week so the college-age daughter can sign her name when she is home on Thanksgiving break.

There have been a couple of years when I bought cards after Christmas for the following season, but I didn’t do that this year.

And yes, I know people who refuse to send Christmas cards. But that’s your problem, not mine!

Here’s where I found them: Wal-Mart in Frenchtown Township. There are a couple of bins that have card packets at 15 cards for $1 each. Yes I paid $6.36 total for 90 cards. I can’t possibly make cards that cheap, even though I’m known for sending handcrafted greeting cards the rest of the year.

The Wal-Mart cards also are “made in the USA.”

If you are in search of greeting cards and are picky about the design or amount, you’d better plan on quite a search. I was at Rite Aid, Walgreens and Target before I went to Wal-Mart and really was happy only with a set I found at Rite Aid (there just wasn’t enough cards in that design).

But if you are OK with mix and match designs, I found several “card assortment” collections at those stores that also are quite inexpensive.

So if you are not a Wal-Mart fan, or would like to avoid the traffic on Telegraph Rd. near Mall Rd. if at all possible, go ahead and poke around the other discount stores first.
