The Summerfield Township Volunteer Fire Department will distribute gift bags to children again this Christmas Eve.
Residents living within the Petersburg city limits who live on their porch lights will receive a visit from Santa and a gift bag filled with candy for the children.
Those who live in Summerfield Township need to call the fire department to request a visit from Santa.
Firefighters will deliver goodie bags on Christmas Eve between 5:30 p.m. to about 8 p.m., said Fire Chief Nick Lucas.
The holiday distribution began back in the 1940s, Chief Lucas said.
Those who are interested in receiving a candy bag who live in Summerfield Township should call the fire house at 279-2525 or the fire chief at 856-4246.
