Dress for Success: Business attire for job-seeking women

Are you wondering what to wear to a job interview if you get a call?

CNN has a story about the Dress for Success agency and its assistance for job-seeking women: Jobless transformed with right clothes.

Dress for Success is an agency that provides women with business attire appropriate for their job interviews, and a second business outfit after they land a job. The organization has locations all over the U.S. and in several other countries.

A snippet from the story:

Because of widespread job cuts and layoffs, Dress for Success is seeing staggering increases in business all over the country.

Business is up at the Miami, Florida, office about 100 percent over 2007. Denver, Colorado’s, office has seen increases of 68 percent, and Portland, Oregon, has seen business jump 144 percent.

Southeast Michigan residents are lucky to have two Dress for Success locations in the region – Ypsilanti and Detroit.

Julie’s List also has posted links to several other clothing assistance resources for southeast Michigan residents – ranging from business attire to baby clothes to prom dresses to winter coats.

Help! I’d like to donate clothing to Dress for Success this
summer, but I cannot figure out donation locations in your
website. I’ll be in Petoskey, Michigan but will come downstate, bringing clothing and shoes to donate. Where
are you? Livonia? Grand Rapids? Oakland County?
I am planning on late May or June. Judy Ward
