Staying busy when you’re out of work
Personal Finance Advice blog has this post Seventeen things to do when you’re out of work.
First on the list:
Bake: It saves money because it addresses a need. It takes time. It’s fun to do by yourself and fun to do with the kids. The results are freezable so when you get back to work, you can still enjoy fresh-baked goods.
I wrote a 10 things to do during the autoworker layoffs post in December. A lot of those worker bees are starting to be called back to work, but layoff and furlough notices at other employers have since been announced.
I think all of us in southeast Michigan realize the local economy continues to be very iffy. It would be smart to create a “honey-do” list should you find yourself with unexpected time off — and start watching for sales and deals on the necessary equipment or supplies in the meantime.
