Resources at UnemploymentLifeLine.com
One of the web sites I learned about tonight at the Monroe County Unemployment Resource Expo is UnemploymentLifeLine.com.
The web site is sponsored by Working America and the AFL-CIO, and was launched with Michigan workers in mind.
But the site use is not limited to union members – anyone can register to look up resources by region, find a checklist of what to do when you are unemployed, go to an “ask the expert” page, or participate in the forum or wiki discussions. Yes, there are Monroe, Mich., agencies already in the database.
So I’ll have it on my “local links” list, even though this is a national web site.
