Monroe MI sales fliers March 14

If you read bargain and shopping blogs, you have seen detailed reviews of advertising promotions, and the coupon matches that go with those ads.

I don’t do that on Monroe on a Budget, and here is why: It is very difficult to write exact coupon matches for the Monroe, Mich., shopping market.

My local readers, depending on what neighborhood they live in, have easy access to least two, and often three, Sunday newspapers. There have been variances in coupon values, and coupon selections, even when the individual newspapers have the same number of coupon books on any given Sunday.

So if you are one of my local readers, take advantage of the overlapping Sunday newspaper districts and enjoy all those coupons that are circulating from multiple directions! Can you imagine the frustration for coupon shoppers elsewhere who are able to get only ONE Sunday paper?

Therefore, this is the sales and deals procedure for Monroe on a Budget: I give highlights throughout the week of the supermarket, discount and drugstore ads that are circulating in the Monroe, Mich., zip codes. In the meantime, I teach in my 8 week plan how to get into a routine with coupons and other cost-saving methods.

From today’s edition of The Monroe Evening News:

  • Kroger in Monroe, Milan and Dundee (sale starts Monday) will have a 10 for $10 sale that includes Kroger eggs, Kroger bread and half gallon orange juice. There is a March to Savings promotion if you buy any eight participating products you will get $4 off at checkout – items include Hellman’s mayonnaise, Mott’s apple juice and Hershey’s pieces (coupon match). Kroger fish fillets are 25 percent off. Kroger corned beef $2.47 a pound.
  • CVS Pharmacy: Pepsi 12-packs are three for $10. Buy one get one free Purex.  Peeps trays are two for $2. Russell Stover is $4.99 a box. Spend $10 on selected Glade products get $4 Extra Care Bucks back. Spend $15 on selected Dove, Degree, Caress or Lever products get $5 Extra Care Bucks Back.
  • Meijer has assorted women’s tops and shorts for $10 or less. Cherokee women’s uniforms are 25 percent off. The huge 10 for $10 sale get 11th item free list this week includes Grands, Goldfish, Brown n Serve, Meijer bread, Green Giant boxed veggies, Hunt’s ketchup, Chex Mix and Manwich. Yoplait is 10 for $5.
  • Walgreens has selected Kellogg’s cereals for $1.99. Electrasol or Jet Dry will have register rewards deals. Coupons in flier for Palmolive, Kleenex, Folgers instant coffee and Royal gelatin.
  • Kmart in Monroe has a $5 off coupon when you buy $25 or more in P&G products. Now, I’ve heard people complain about skimpy values on P&G coupons – but what you do is bundle those coupons on offers like this. Also at Kmart, Hanes men’s bonus packs are on sale. Kids athletic footwear is on sale.
  • Big Lots has patio furniture and accessories featured this week. A brownie pan set is $7. Sunbeam cookware is featured with a 12-piece set for $35. Assorted Wii games on sale.
  • Target has Clorox bleach at three for $5. Infant and toddler shirts at $3 each. Assorted women’s bras are on sale. Luv’s big pack diapers are on sale.
