Angel Food Ministries’ letter to customers

Angel Food Ministries has had some struggles at the national level.

While I have watched the chatter and headlines, the fact is that AF is the only grocery program of its kind currently available to my local readers in Monroe County, Mich. And the local volunteers at Monroe Church of the Nazarene run a great operation on the grass-roots level.

Therefore, I do recommend the program to families on a budget and I really do buy a box or two from AF almost every month. I have found that AF selections work very well with the groceries that are available on supermarket specials and coupon deals. You save money in the long run, and there’s a lot more variety at the dinner table.

AF sent an email Friday to its customers saying “Thank you for your faith in Angel Food Ministries.” If it didn’t arrive to your email box, a link is on AF’s Facebook page and also it’s posted on the web.

A snippet:

We here know that you have choices, and know that our food initiative process is a commitment for both, the volunteers at the host sites and you, our consumers who retain your faith in the work we do.  For that, we can not express our appreciation enough.

In the next few months you will see new selections that rival the old ones, and values that cannot be matched.  We are excitied, and hope that you are too.

Thank you for looking to us for support, and thank you for the support you in turn help bring to the people we all touch.

I didn’t order for July because it was hard to predict what groceries I needed this time. We also have some AF still in stock since I had been ordering two boxes a month lately.

But I have seen the August menu, and do plan to place an order from that list.
