Big changes on college loans for 2010-11
There have been big changes in the college student loan system for the 2010-11 school year.
Now that my college daughter and I have actually been working on her loan paperwork, rather than just reading about the updates, I like what I see. The trick this year is to make sure everything is working the way it is supposed to. It really is a different process! I appreciate the fact her college mailed us a step by step checklist that we’ve referred to multiple times to see “what’s next?”
If you don’t understand a step or a document on your Direct Student Loans process, call the college financial aid office. Leave a voice mail for someone to call back, if needed. The staff will answer your questions as best they can.
