Drugstore and back-to-school ads July 31
My sales and deals posts are for the Monroe, Mich., area:
The following ads are in today’s edition of The Monroe Evening News:
- Wal-Mart (sale starts Sunday) will have 70-sheet notebooks at 15 cents (wow!), economy binders at 75 cents, 24-county Cra-Z-Art crayons at 20 cents. Storage ottoman in various colors at $17. Boys or girls Faded Glory jeans at $8. School uniform pieces include $9 for a 2-pack polo shirt, skirts for $10 and pants for $12.
- This is a really good week to shop at Rite Aid (sale starts Sunday). The ad is promoting Back-to-school bargains that include 50 percent off selected backpacks and lunch sacks – and you also get $1 Up reward. Buy one get one free Nature’s Bounty – look for coupon in Sunday papers. Pampers on wellness+, Single Check Rebate and Up Reward – yes you CAN combine those deals! Other wellness+ and Up combinations available on Charmin Basic, Bounty Basic, Coke 12-packs and Tide. Purchase $10 worth of selected makeup products – many of which are on sale - and get a Glam Camp bag free. I also posted yesterday on the oral health promotion courtesy of a heads up from a Rite Aid rep – look at all those sales on toothpaste, mouthwash and gum! You should have NO problem finding great deals that add up to the $15 purchase requirement for the gift card rebate, and actually the $25 one will be pretty easy too. P&G also has its coupon flier scheduled for Sunday, and there will be coupon matches on some Rite Aid sales.
- Busch’s Fresh Food Market (sale starts Monday) has a coupon in flier for Pepsi 12-packs – buy three any flavor, get one diet, you pay only $10. Yoplait yogurt will be 10 for $5, so you can get some good use out of those coupons in your coupon box. There is a summer sizzlin meat sale next week that includes flat iron steak for $4.99 a pound and pork loin at $1.86 a pound. Look on back of flier for a rebate offer involving 10 proofs of purchase from Kellogg’s on the same receipt – but the starting prices at Busch’s are not bad and there are coupon matches you can do.
- Staples (sale starts Sunday) has a “binder bonanza” 59 cents on the economy binders Sunday through Wednesday only. The Avery view binders I like are $2 each when you buy four Sunday through Wednesday. The $1 deals next week include plastic pencil boxes and dry-erase markers. The $2 deals include construction paper. Selected backpacks and lunch boxes on sale. Teachers: reminder about Teacher Appreciation Day.
- Ciolino Fruit and Vegetable Market in Monroe and Temperance has these deals today through Monday: Georgia peaches at 39 cents a pound, Fugi apples 59 cents a pound, red onions 49 cents a pound. Sunday-only deals include cukes at 5 cents each. Large eggs 80 cents a dozen. This market is definitely a bargain-lover’s favorite in Monroe – check it out if you haven’t been there lately.
