Family management binders and medical emergencies

I’ve mentioned the concept of family management binders before.
I explained in my disaster planning piece this spring that a notebook with important phone numbers needs to be kept with your tornado supplies as a backup in case your cell phone loses power.
I also set up a binder specifically for my daughter’s financial and school papers when she was on a study abroad semester.
There’s another potential use: Amy Bayliss has a post at The Better Mom that explains how such a binder can be arranged with each family member’s ID papers and medical histories. Her goal is to save time and headaches in case a child has to go to the emergency room.
