Video seminar Feb. 29 on how unemployment relates to health inequities
This post is for my readers in and near Monroe, Mich.:
The Monroe County Health Department is hosting Wednesday Brown Bag Series that started this week and will meet from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays until March 14 at its facility, 2353 S. Custer Rd., Monroe, Mich.
The program each week is a 30-minute video, followed by a group discussion, focusing on racial and socioeconomic inequities in health, and public health policy “through a social justice and health equity lens.”
The Feb. 29 topic is of particular interest to Monroe on a Budget readers. The presentation is: Not Just a Paycheck – Unemployment takes a toll in Michigan, but not in Sweden.
The series is open to the public and is a “bring your own lunch” setting.
