I read this piece in the print edition of Good Housekeeping yesterday, and have added it to the collection of money-saving articles I keep in the Monroe on a Budget files. Luckily, it’s also on the magazine web site so I can share it with my online readers.

It’s a piece by Ginny Graves titled “How we saved $10,000 in just one year.”

This family has an upper middle class income and lifestyle that’s a step above many of my readers.

That being said, I thought the discussions were very good on topics such as why better stewardship of the funds had to be a family goal, the challenges of everyday life, and the effort involved with explaining to children why money was no longer so freely available.
