Here’s what you do with the “Easter” bake sale items
Posted on March 31st, 2012 in Bake sales, Earth Day
The Easter-themed bake sales in the Monroe, Mich., area, usually take place on Palm Sunday weekend.
Here’s the reason for that timing: the fundraiser volunteers would rather spend Easter weekend with their families, than staffing a bake sale booth.
What can you do about the fact you’re buying freshly baked goodies a week before you need or want them?
Answer: Freeze them.
Unless you want something to serve on Palm Sunday, and that may be a possibility, then pick out cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other treats that can be put in the freezer for a few days.
Pull them out of the freezer an hour or two before serving, and you’ll have a dessert for your family and friends next weekend!
