There was a P&G coupon book in the Sunday papers this weekend.

Trending topics in this week’s grocery and drugstore fliers, based on what I’m seeing in The Monroe Evening News:

  • Cleaning supplies. You may be glad to have those deals if you are prepping for holiday guests, or need to clean up after Thanksgiving.
  • Pantry basics such as coffee, pasta, beans and soup are still on a lot of promotions.
  • Inexpensive but festive items such as those you would want for a hostess or co-worker gift. Check my recent newspaper column for a discussion on that detail.
  • Toys. Don’t dismay over the bundle prices that seem to “force” you to buy more toys than you had in mind. Put the extras in a charity donation bin.
  • Christmas craft and baking supplies. If you see something you might want to do with the children when the schools are on winter break, get the supplies now while the selection is good.

Also of note: If you are in need of cookie tins or treat bags, check out the dollar stores.
