This post is for my readers in and near Monroe, Mich., and will be in The Monroe Evening News soon:
The family of Sgt. Michael Ingram Jr., who was killed in action, will host a booth on behalf of the Mikie’s Minutes Fund from July 28 to Aug. 3 at the Monroe County Fair.
Mike Sr. and Julie Ingram will give away three 30-minute calling cards in envelopes to any family member who shows up at the booth with a photo of their loved one currently serving abroad. Also available at the booth will be the availability to support the Mikie’s Minutes campaign by purchasing special, custom-styled t-shirts and the Emmy nominated documentary film “One Soldier’s Story.”
Mikie’s Minutes was created in 2011, and has shipped nearly 300,000 minutes of free, prepaid 30-minute calling cards to troops in Afghanistan and other parts of the world.
