Think About Your Death

(I took this picture of an Orthodox priest walking down a Jersusalem street.)
N.T. Wright, in Suprised By Hope, writes: “From Plato to Hegel and beyond, some of the greatest philosophers declared that what you think about death, and life beyond it, is the key to thinking seriously about everything else - and, indeed, that it provides one of the main reasons for thinking seriously about anything at all. This is something a Christian theologian should heartily endorse.” (6)
IĀ agree. Answer the question “What happens after I die?” and you have answered the question “What is the meaning of my life.”

It is the key and it is so simple. Isn’t it amazing how the cares of the world, the decietfulness of riches, desire for other things, and arrogant hearts…all work to keep people from thinking about death, the one inevitable thing we all share. …the one thing our culture works so hard to keep us from thinking about?! It would be a great beginning if we all would stop to think on these things! Time to think, people!
Thanks J. P. for focusing on the important things.
