Women who are pregnant or soon-to-be-pregnant should avoid taking myfortic, a prescription drug meant to suppress immune system response in patients who have had kidney transplants.
Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. said it has found positive evidence of fetal risk involved in use of the drug. That’s a change from its previous status as a drug that showed no confirmed evidence of fetal risk.
