Some Mercedes being recalled
A faulty transistor has led to the recall of about 3,300 2008 Mercedes-Benz S Class luxury cars.“A malfunction may occur on the signal acquisition and actuation module” that controls vehicle some vehicle functions, including the center console lighting, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The transistors were improperly stored and exposed to excess humidity which can affect their functioning and increase the risk of a crash, according to NHTSA.
Mercedes-Benz dealers will inspect and replace the transistors free of charge when the recall begins in May.
