About “The Cynical Critic(s)”
The creator and author of “The Cynical Critic” is full time college student and published author, Josh Kraus. When Josh isn’t spending time working on “The Cynical Critic,” he enjoys listening to music, playing video games, making movies, and hanging out with his friends.
Josh has has experience as a writer for quite a long time. He maintains two other blogs aside from this one, has had more than one piece of literary work published, and studies film, as well as majors in English at Eatern Michigan University. Kraus also worked on the Agora, MCCC’s student run newspaper for over a year.
Aside from writing, Kraus considers himself an authority on video games. He has owned every system since the original NES, has played and beaten over hundreds of different games, and has entered numerous tournaments for games such as Super Smash Bros. Melee, Halo 2, and Soul Calibur.
Kraus is also well versed in his tastes of movies and film, in which he has a very critical and high taste for movies. He boasts a large movie collection, and generally feels the need to inject his two cents about movies when ever the subject comes up in conversation. Josh’s friends agree that he can generally give great insight about specific movies, and even describe the in-depth and hidden elements, or points the director was trying to make.
Finally, Josh works at a computer lab, where he sits and writes countless things on the Internet, many of them being of no help to anyone. Apparently, he also enjoys writing in third person, so to appear as if he didn’t really write all of the above things himself.
Friend of creator and aspired author of the Cynical Critic, Josh Piippo is also a full time student (Siena Heights) and avid video game player, tv watcher, and marble thrower. He also enjoys hanging with his friends and watching sports non-stop.
Josh has completed tough classes throughout his time in college such as english composition 1, 2 and varied english classes at Raisinville Elementary, Holy Ghost Lutheran School, Manor Elementary, Monroe Middle School and True Life Centers (homeschool!).
Aside from writing, Josh Piippo has looked at himself as THE authority on video games, over counterpart Kraus (just kidding…maybe) on Mario, Supermonkey Ball, Madden/2k games, COD 4, Halo 1,2,3,4, and 5. Not 6. The game he owns most in is Tetris. Owned systems in his lifetime include original gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy advance, ds, Super Nintendo, N64, Gamecube, Dreamcast, PS2, PS1, Xbox, Xbox, 360, etc…
Josh enjoys movies, especially action ones and anything involving Keanu Reeves. Josh boasts a small dvd collection and a good size vhs collection. He enjoys tv shows such as get smart, family matters, I love Lucy and most of all enjoys Perfect Strangers. Enjoyable movies includes Milo and Otis, Homeward Bound, Jumanji, and Toy Story. He does not like Lassie or Beethoven.
Finally, Josh works at a cafe in the Detroit Beach/Newport area where he washes many dishes and then some. Apparentely, he also likes writing in 3rd person and using copywrite infringement against his friend Josh Kraus, the original Cynical Critic.
